Jiayin Wulaga National Mining Park

Wulaga National Mining Park is located between the Wulaga rock gold mine and Pingdingshan gold mine in the southern part of Jiayin County, stretching along the Wulaga River valley, covering an area of 155.78 square kilometers.

The mining park has, through multiple phases of tectonic movements, magmatic activity, and external geological processes, formed a large porphyry-style gold deposit at Wulaga and relics of a Late Cretaceous dinosaur burial site, which are rare and precious remains on a global scale. The Wulaga rock gold deposit exhibits clear alterations, obvious structural controls on mineralization, and typical deposit characteristics, making it of great significance in the history of deposit discovery.

The park features gently sloping mountains, dense forests, well-developed streams, valleys, and wetlands in the mountains, offering a beautiful ecological environment with abundant natural landscapes and mineral resources. In its early days, the area had rich gold resources, with a long history of mining activities. Since the late Qing Dynasty, there have been alluvial gold mining operations. The preserved mining sites from the late Qing and early Republican period, the Japanese puppet regime era, and the post-liberation period have now become the largest modern open-pit gold mining operation in the country.

The park combines mining heritage landscapes, geological heritage landscapes, a dinosaur burial site, pristine natural mountain-water ecological scenery, and the cultural charm of the Oroqen ethnic group. It is a rare tourism resource with high scientific and aesthetic value, making it an ideal destination for science education, mining tourism, and geotourism.

Location: Between the Wulaga rock gold mine and Pingdingshan gold mine in Wulaga Town, Jiayin County, Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province

Transportation by bus: Take a bus from Yichun to Jiayin, then transfer to a minibus or taxi to Wulaga.

Driving route: Starting from Yichun, take S204 for 123.5 km, then go straight onto Y036 and drive another 34.4 km to reach the destination.
