National Gate, Border Monument

The National Gate and Border Monument are cultural tourism attractions.

National Gate — On the banks of the Heilongjiang River in Mingshan, there stands a modern H-shaped national gate. The gate features the seven large Chinese characters “中华人民共和国” (People’s Republic of China) and a gleaming national emblem, symbolizing the dignity of our nation. The letter “H” is the initial of the Chinese word for crane (鹤), signifying that the gate is located within Hegang. Ascending the spiral staircase to the gate platform, visitors can overlook the surging Heilongjiang River and the full view of Russia’s Amur Zeya October District. At this moment, tourists may feel an even deeper sense of closeness and pride when thinking of their motherland.

Border Monument — This border monument is No. 235 on the Heilongjiang section. The monument stands approximately 1.2 meters tall, shaped like a square column, with the national emblem of the People’s Republic of China inlaid at the top. Made of hard black-gray granite, the monument is protected by an iron fence on all sides.
