Wujintun Songhua River Bridge

Wujintun Songhua River Bridge is the longest bridge on the Beijing–Harbin Highway. It is located at Yaojiagang in Dehui City and Wujintun in Songyuan City. Spanning the Songhua River, the bridge has a total length of 916 meters, with 20 spans each measuring 45 meters. The lower pier foundation consists of two 2-meter-diameter bored piles with cast-in-place double-column pier shafts; the upper structure is a two-way prestressed single-box, with single-cell box piers using construction techniques where the main girder is longitudinally divided into 17 segments. These are pre-stressed and assembled on steel guide girders, then tensioned and bonded to form the main structure. The bridge was constructed under the direction of the Jilin Provincial Department of Transportation, designed by the Jilin Provincial Highway Survey and Design Institute, and built by the Jilin Provincial Highway Engineering Bureau. Construction began in May 1987 and the bridge was completed and opened to traffic in September 1989.
