The Sky-Mending Stone

The Sky-Mending Stone is a massive rock stretching dozens of meters in length, shaped like the final stroke of the Chinese character “天” (sky), as if dashed toward the lake. Legend has it that this stone was one of the legendary Sky-Mending Stones used by Nüwa to repair the heavens. It is said that three other pieces of the original stone remain—one transformed into the stone monkey, who later became the Great Sage Equaling Heaven, Sun Wukong; one resides within the passage to the divine realm; and the last one was lost on Earth.
