Narhong Meeting Site

The Narhong Meeting Site is a cultural relics protection unit of Jilin Province, a classic red tourism destination, and a patriotic education base.

The Narhong Meeting Site is located in Yujia Valley, Guangming Village, Xixincha Town, Jingyu County. On April 20, 1981, it was designated as a key cultural relics protection unit by the People's Government of Jilin Province. In late August 1935, Li Xuezhong, the political director of the Second Army of the Northeast People’s Revolutionary Army, led two companies (150 soldiers) of the Second Regiment and the Second Division of the First Army to a victorious meeting in Narhong, Jingyu County, an anti-Japanese guerrilla base in southern Manchuria. This historic encounter is known as the "Narhong Meeting." During this meeting, major issues such as the preparation for the Manchurian People’s Congress, the establishment of a provisional people’s revolutionary government in Manchuria, and the formation of the General Headquarters of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Allied Forces were discussed. It laid a solid foundation for the formation of the First Route Army of the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army and the establishment of the South Manchurian Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China. The meeting successfully connected the previously isolated guerrilla zones and base areas of eastern and southern Manchuria, expanded the operational space for the anti-Japanese forces, and opened up a passage for eastward advancement. Therefore, the "Narhong Meeting" stands as a major historical event and a crucial turning point in the history of the anti-Japanese struggle in northeastern China, holding profound historical significance.
