Hongqi Village is located in the central part of Antu County, 72 kilometers from the county seat, 140 kilometers from Yanji City, and 150 kilometers from Changbai Mountain. The Mingdong Highway, which leads to Changbai Mountain, runs through the village.

Hongqi Village is the only village inhabited exclusively by ethnic Koreans along the travel route from Antu to Changbai Mountain. The village has a total of 100 households. It is situated in a mountain valley, nestled against hills and near water, with rows of traditional Korean-style houses neatly lining both sides of a stream, offering visitors a glimpse into the traditional rural charm of the Korean people. In their leisure time after work, villagers of all ages gather to perform colorful Korean folk dances, and often someone will step forward to sing ancient and beautiful folk songs. The joyful and lively atmosphere intoxicates everyone, making them feel as if they are in a dreamy revelry.

The Korean ethnic group also celebrates many traditional festivals, among which the Spring Festival, Lantern Festival (Shangyuan), Cold Food Festival (Hanshi), Dragon Boat Festival, and Chuseok (Autumn Eve) are the five major holidays. During these festive occasions, villagers sing and dance, and prepare distinctive Korean dishes to entertain guests from afar.

Especially memorable are the rice, cold noodles, rice cakes, steamed cakes, and songpyeon made by the hardworking and kind Korean women—deliciously sweet, cool, and refreshingly memorable.
