The Yingchengzi Han Tombs Cluster

The Yingchengzi Han Tombs are located between Muchengyi and Shagangzi villages in Yingchengzi Town, Ganjingzi District, Dalian City, Liaoning Province. This is an expansive Han tomb complex stretching nearly 10 kilometers. Nestled against rolling mountains and facing the Bohai Sea, the area boasts lush hills and picturesque scenery. As a site of Han Dynasty mural tombs, it is the only brick-painted tomb discovered in southern Liaoning and is also extremely rare in the world. Since 2003, archaeologists in Dalian have carried out seven years of rescue excavations here, uncovering more than 200 tombs and over 3,200 cultural relics. Research indicates that these tombs date back to the Western and Eastern Han Dynasties, spanning a period of about 300 years.
