Dazuizi Site

The Dazuizi Site is a cultural relic protection unit of Liaoning Province.

The Dazuizi Site is located on a coastal hill in the southeast of Dalianwan Town, Ganjingzi, and can be found by walking north along the right side of Zhenxing Road.

Dating back to 2000–1000 BCE, it is a settlement site from the Bronze Age. Covering an area of approximately 7,000 square meters, it is divided into three phases based on its cultural content. In 1987, the Dalian Cultural Relics Management Committee conducted excavations at the site, uncovering 41 house foundations and a total of 1,611 artifacts including pottery, stone tools, such as pottery jars, pottery pots, pottery bowls, stone knives, stone axes, stone adzes, among others. The site also features a stone wall used for military defense, and bronze dagger-axes and bronze arrowheads were unearthed. Charred japonica rice and sorghum were found in the house foundations, marking an important agricultural archaeology discovery in the Dalian area. This site is a representative ancient cultural relic from the Bronze Age in the Dalian region, proving that people lived here 4,000 years ago, subsisting on fishing and hunting.

Protected area: 250 meters west from the western end of the Cross-sea Bridge, extending along Zhenxing Road to the cliff by the sea.

Construction control zone: A Class I construction control zone lies within 100 meters west of the protected area.
