Xiuyan Shuangquan Temple

Xiuyan Shuangquan Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Shuangquan Temple is located on the mountainside of Longfeng Mountain in Shuangquan Village, Yawei Subdistrict Office, Xiuyan Manchu Autonomous County, about 10 kilometers from Xiuyan Town. The temple gets its name from the two springs near the southern hill.

The original Shuangquan Temple was first built in 1787, the 52nd year of the Qianlong reign during the Qing Dynasty, and originally had three main halls and three meditation rooms. In 1859 (the 9th year of the Xianfeng reign of the Qing Dynasty), it underwent major renovations, but later suffered repeated damage throughout the long course of history.

From 1992 to 1993, the three main halls, three side halls, and three meditation rooms were restored and rebuilt, and a new building was constructed at the site of the two springs where a statue of the Dragon King was erected. The consecration ceremony was held in 1993. Shuangquan Temple is now a highly popular religious site and tourist destination within Xiuyan County.
