The Gusu Stone Dolmen

The Gusu Stone Dolmen is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Liaoning Province.

The Gusu Stone Dolmen is located in Xuejiabao Village, Xinglong Village, Xinglong Subdistrict Office, approximately 5 kilometers northeast of Xiuyan County. The dolmen faces south and is composed of four massive stone slabs: one each for the left, right, and rear walls, and one as the roof, covering an area of about 20 square meters. The rear wall slab has been artificially broken.

About 400 meters from this dolmen, in the southern field of Dayushu Group in Yangheyan Village, there is another smaller dolmen of the same design that can be seen from afar. Folklore says the dolmens were built to commemorate two women— an aunt and her niece—who became immortals. In reality, they are remnants of the “megalithic culture” from the Bronze Age, possibly ancient tombs dating back around 4,000 to 5,000 years. It is a provincial-level key cultural relics protection unit.

Protected Area: A zone extending 50 meters outward from the central point of each of the dolmen’s four walls (east, south, west, and north).

Construction Control Zone: A zone within 50 meters outside the protected area designated as Class I construction control.
