Shihu Stone Pillars

The Shihu Stone Pillars are a cultural relic protection unit of Liaoning Province.

These two ancient stone pillars are believed to be relics from the Bronze Age and can be regarded as prehistoric versions of Huabiao, serving as totems of ancient people. The Bronze Age was a period of flourishing patriarchal clan society civilization. Archaeological data indicates that there are already twenty to thirty discovered Bronze Age cultural sites in the Xiuyan area alone. This is sufficient evidence that four to five thousand years ago, a large number of people lived and carried out activities here. Traveling back through the millennia, we can be certain that this site must have been an important location for group celebrations and religious ceremonies by ancient peoples. Many also believe that these two ancient and mysterious stone pillars, along with the ever-flowing waterfall, are sacred symbols representing the ancient people’s prayers for abundant food and clothing, the thriving of life, and the prosperity of their clans.

Protected area: Within 150 meters east, west, and north, and within 70 meters south, taking the eastern stone pillar as the reference point.

Construction control zone: Beyond the protected area, within 60 meters east, west, and north, and within 80 meters south is classified as Class I construction control zone. An additional 50 meters beyond the Class I construction control zone is designated as Class II construction control zone.
