Xiongyue Hot Springs has a long history and is widely renowned. As early as before the 16th century, it was used by local residents for bathing and treating illnesses. After the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, various organizations such as Yingkou City 0, Liaoning Provincial Oil Transportation Administration, Unit 81043, Provincial Fruit Tree Research Institute, Provincial Science Committee, Provincial - Bureau, and Shenyang Railway Bureau successively built sanatoriums here to extract hot spring water for medical and health purposes. In recent years, with the growing demand for hot spring tourism products in the tourism market, entities such as Xiaoyu Hotel, Kangle Hotel, Shentie Sanatorium, and Tianmu Group have successively invested in developing hot spring tourism products and building hot spring resorts, gradually forming the Xiongyue Hot Springs Tourism and Holiday Resort area.

In 1990, the Liaoning Provincial Mineral Water Appraisal Committee designated Xiongyue Hot Springs as "High-Temperature Therapeutic Mineral Water." Its notable characteristics are: 1. Colorless and transparent with a hydrogen sulfide odor, with water temperatures reaching up to 85°C; 2. Mineralization level as high as 998–1109 mg/L, containing cations such as potassium, sodium, calcium, and magnesium, and anions such as sulfate, chloride, carbonate, along with special components like fluoride, hydrogen sulfide, and silicon dioxide. The water is of the chloride type, bicarbonate-sodium classification; 3. pH value of 7.9, slightly alkaline; 4. Large water yield, exceeding 3,000 tons per day.
