Baishi Tourist Scenic Area

Baishi Tourist Scenic Area is a national AA-level tourist attraction.

Located on the main stream of the Dalin River in Beipiao City, Liaoning Province, Baishi lies at the heart of Chaoyang, Fuxin, and Jinzhou, enjoying convenient transportation and a uniquely advantageous geographical environment. The Baishi Reservoir is a large-scale water conservancy hub project primarily designed for flood control, irrigation, and water supply, while also serving multiple functions such as power generation, aquaculture, and tourism. In September 2000, the main construction of the Baishi Reservoir was completed. The dam is 513 meters long, with a total storage capacity of 1.645 billion cubic meters, and controls a catchment area of 17,649 square kilometers. It is the third-largest reservoir in Liaoning Province and the largest in western Liaoning.

The Baishi Reservoir area boasts rich vegetation and diverse species. The reservoir takes its name from the distinctive white rocks found locally. In recent years, the discovery of sensational Mesozoic paleontological fossils within the reservoir area has added significant historical value to its tourism development. By the end of 2000, the Baishi Tourism Service Center was officially established. Its serene and luxurious Baishi Resort, majestic Monument, and grand reviewing stand, along with the Beipiao Biota Fossil Museum and Huining Temple, form a unique scenic tourism route, making the Baishi Reservoir an even more radiant gem on the Dalin River. From the reviewing stand, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the reservoir area: sunrise at dawn, sunset glow, spring hugging the Dalin River, and silver geese playing in the water. The waterside recreation area features a variety of leisure activities including fishing, swimming beaches, and boat rides, making it an ideal destination for relaxation and vacation. In 2007, the “No.1 Drift in Western Liaoning” — the Baishi Drift project — was completed, adding another stunning attraction to the Baishi tourism experience.

The Baishi Tourism Service Center is fully equipped with advanced, top-tier facilities and has the capacity to host large conferences for over 300 people. It includes parking lots, security services, dance halls, and entertainment rooms, making it an ideal “lucky spot” for group meetings, family trips, and gatherings with friends.
