The Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Exhibition Hall is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Exhibition Hall is situated on the south side of the Scenic Boulevard along Xinhua Street in Hohhot, the capital city of the autonomous region. It spans a land area of 48,824.05 square meters, with a building area of 17,254.6 square meters, usable area of 14,904.01 square meters, and outdoor exhibition space of 21,735.6 square meters. Boasting an excellent location, beautiful surroundings, a spacious square, and scientifically designed internal functions, it stands as an iconic cultural landmark of Inner Mongolia. The main building is majestic, the auxiliary building is elegant, and the exhibition halls are thoughtfully arranged. With its unique, graceful, and sturdy Mongolian-Tibetan architectural style, the hall embodies the profound essence of grassland culture.

The Inner Mongolia Exhibition Hall serves as an important window showcasing the achievements of the autonomous region in various fields. In 1977, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the autonomous region, the regional government established the Inner Mongolia Exhibition Office. In 1987, the Inner Mongolia Exhibition Hall building was completed as a project commemorating the 40th anniversary of the region, and the Exhibition Office was renamed the Inner Mongolia Exhibition Hall. To host the 70th anniversary achievement exhibition, the Exhibition Hall underwent “exhibition hall renovation and expansion” as well as “interior and exterior maintenance projects.” It has successively hosted exhibitions such as the “30th, 40th, 50th, and 60th Anniversary Achievement Exhibitions of the Autonomous Region,” as well as over 40 representative exhibitions including the “30-Year Retrospective of Reform and Opening-Up” and “National Minority Autonomous Regions · United and Progressive Inner Mongolia,” earning high praise from central and regional leaders as well as all sectors of society.

The Inner Mongolia Exhibition Hall is an important classroom for hosting public welfare exhibitions that promote positive energy. Exhibitions such as “Republican Art Classics – 2012 Chinese Art Museum Collection Artworks Exhibition in Inner Mongolia,” “Chinese Dream · National Masters’ Calligraphy and Painting Art Exhibition,” “Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Outstanding Publications Exhibition,” and “Rivers Turn Green – A Photographic Exhibition of the Yellow River Becoming Lush” are all infused with rich cultural significance. Events like the “Never Forget National Humiliation · Realize the Chinese Dream – University Tour Exhibition of Anti-Japanese War Photos in the Inner Mongolia Region Commemorating the 70th Anniversary,” “Multimedia Exhibition on the Advanced Deeds of Comrade Jirigala,” and “Achievements Exhibition of the ‘Three Stricts and Three Honests’ Special Education in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region” have successfully promoted patriotic and political themes, making the Exhibition Hall an important platform for spreading positive energy in the region.

The Inner Mongolia Exhibition Hall is a key platform for promoting outstanding traditional ethnic culture. In September 2015, it hosted the “Grassland Cultural Heritage Day and Autonomous Region Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition,” receiving over 120 groups and 210,000 visitors in just seven days. In September 2016, it held the “Inner Mongolia Grassland Cultural Heritage Protection Day Promotion and Exhibition Activities and Traditional Mongolian Embroidery Art Exhibition.” The Exhibition Hall also collaborated with Hohhot Baita International Airport to create the “Culturally Brilliant Inner Mongolia” exhibition brand, launching events such as the “Top Ten Cultural Symbols of Inner Mongolia Exhibition,” “Grassland Charm · Inner Mongolia Zhalute Woodblock Print Exhibition,” and “Mongolian Costume Show · Inheritors Displaying Beauty,” significantly enhancing the visibility and reputation of Inner Mongolia.

The Inner Mongolia Exhibition Hall is an important platform for fostering innovation and creativity in grassland culture. In 2015, it organized the “Grassland Cultural Creative Design and Creative Industry Exhibition,” the first large-scale thematic cultural creativity exhibition in the region, which built a strong platform for the mutual development of cultural creative design and industry. Subsequently, the regional Department of Culture supported the establishment of the “Grassland Cultural Creative Design Association.” On January 22, 2016, it hosted the “Autonomous Region Intangible Cultural Heritage New Year Goods Exhibition and Traditional Culture Monthly Transmission Event,” an initiative to accelerate the integration of intangible cultural heritage production projects into modern life. On June 29, 2016, during the 13th Grassland Culture Festival, it organized the “First Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Cultural Industry Expo.” To cultivate cultural heritage awareness and innovation among primary and secondary school students, the Exhibition Hall launched the social education program “Traditional Culture Monthly Transmission” in January 2016, organizing activities such as “Ethnic Sports Competition – Ice Archery Game (Aer Ge),” “Hani Ka – Paper Puppets That Speak,” and “Mongolian Deer Chess,” all of which have been widely welcomed by students and the general public.
