Holly Lake Tourist Area

The Holly Lake Scenic Area is located in the heart of the Ulan Buh Desert, 55 kilometers from Dengkou County. The lake covers an area of 5,000 mu, consisting of the main lake, East Lake, and South Lake. During high water levels, the depth reaches 5 meters, and during low water levels, it is 3 meters, with crystal-clear waters. The lake is home to fish such as grass carp and common carp, as well as plants like reeds and aquatic vegetation. In spring, when flowers bloom, the lake attracts flocks of wild ducks, swans, and various other birds. The shores are lined with evergreen holly, which blossoms every April. The eastern and southern shores border the Ulan Buh Desert, where naturally formed sand dunes stretch endlessly.

The scenic area features a 450-square-meter dock, a 1,000-square-meter parking lot, and a 1-mu quadrangle courtyard living area with antique-style architecture. Facilities include yachts, speedboats, and rowboats. There is also a 3,800-square-meter square for visitors to stroll and enjoy the scenery. The 1,296-square-meter all-green ecological restaurant is built using the world’s most advanced sun-shading, thermal insulation, and wet curtain fan cooling systems. The restaurant is decorated with rockeries, waterfalls, and a variety of sound-absorbing and odor-absorbing plants and trees, maintaining a comfortable temperature and humidity year-round, creating a spring-like atmosphere in all seasons. There is also a 13,000-square-meter ecological forest planted with species such as Chinese scholar trees and weeping willows. More plants, including Mongolian pine and desert cypress, will be added in the future. Fishing enthusiasts can walk through the ecological forest from the parking lot to reach the South Lake fishing area. On the western side of the ecological forest by South Lake, there is a wooden fishing platform equipped with shading facilities that can accommodate 20 people fishing simultaneously.
