Longwangtan in Lechang is a national AAA-level tourist attraction and a classic red tourism destination.

Longwangtan is located 23 kilometers northeast of Lechang City, Shaoguan. It is a scenic area that combines forest springs, waterfalls, hot springs, sea of clouds, lake views, and mountain landscapes. The area features towering green mountains, meandering blue waters, clusters of waterfalls with thundering sounds, uniquely shaped rocks, and picturesque scenery. Climbing Longshan Mountain, touring Longhu Lake, and soaking in Longquan Hot Springs make it a great destination for visitors to enjoy waterfalls, listen to the waves, admire rocks, and engage in fitness activities. Major attractions include: Longwangtan Waterfall, Shuiliandong Waterfall, Peacock Waterfall, Yantan Waterfall, Jingtan Waterfall, and Shuizhai Waterfall, as well as ten stone pools: Longwang Pool, Carp Pool, Loquat Pool, Fishing Pool, Chonghong Pool, and Shuoma Pool.

Longquan, also known as Longshan Hot Springs, is a soda-type warm spring and considered one of the finest types of hot springs. It has a daily water output of 2,000 cubic meters, with temperatures ranging between 40-42°C. A hot spring resort has been built here. The resort features both indoor and outdoor hot spring baths. The indoor baths are divided into double and multi-person types, available in three grades: medium, high, and luxury. There is also a medium-sized conference room, a restaurant that can accommodate 100 people, a dance hall, and other comprehensive facilities for dining, accommodation, sightseeing, and entertainment. Longhu, or Longshan Reservoir, has crystal-clear green water covering an area of 1,000 acres. Surrounded by mountains, the lake stretches along the mountain terrain, resembling a soaring eagle with impressive and majestic views. Boating on the lake while enjoying the green mountains and waters and breathing in the fresh air of nature captivates countless visitors. Longgu, or Huanglong Valley, is located in the northern part of the scenic area. The valley boasts rich flora and fauna resources, with year-round green mountains and waters, fluttering butterflies, buzzing bees, cicadas singing like music, and marvelous waterfalls and pools. It features nine waterfalls and eighteen pools, making it an excellent spot for exploring valleys and seeking tranquility and wellness. The valley also holds traces of the Red Army’s Long March, dinosaur footprint fossils, and thousands of rare species of flora and fauna in the pristine secondary forests, serving as a base for science education and patriotic education. The vibrant culture of the Yao ethnic group and the unique ecological riverside barbecue area by the stream add special charm. Yidiyuan, a spring dripping from a rock crevice, is known as Longwangtan Mineral Water—refreshingly sweet and delicious. Huanglong Valley enchants visitors with its “seclusion, wonder, ruggedness, danger, rarity, elegance, uniqueness, and fun,” making it an ideal choice for eco-tourism, science and wellness tours, and leisure vacations.
