Deer Village

Deer Village is located in Lucagou Village, Dayushu Township, Zhuozi County. To the west lies the picturesque Badagou Valley, while to the east it is 1.5 kilometers from the Great Elm Tree where Emperor Kangxi once took shelter from the rain, and 12 kilometers from Mingxing Valley. Nestled against green mountains and facing rolling hills, the village lies alongside the ancient Beijing-Sui postal route. The newly constructed Hohhot (Hohhot) to Xinghe (Xinghe) emergency highway and the Chahanbulake River flow in front of the village, giving it a highly advantageous location and transportation access.

Built against the mountain and valley, Deer Village is surrounded by hills, ridges, and trees that provide natural cover—making it an ideal environment for breeding and raising wildlife such as deer and sika deer. This rural tourism spot was developed through private investment by Niu Ping, a local entrepreneur who returned to his hometown. It is a special farming and breeding-based agritainment project, allowing visitors to enjoy the beautiful mountain, water, and farmland scenery, taste distinctive countryside cuisine, experience rural folk customs, and take part in the joy of farming culture. To date, a 6,000-square-meter special breeding farm and 120-square-meter animal pens have been completed. The animals roam freely within fenced mountain areas, which facilitates management and allows visitors close-up viewing. There are currently 65 breeding deer and 15 breeding sika deer; the annual breeding capacity is over 120 deer and 30 sika deer. To accommodate tourists, three new rural cottages and one vegetable greenhouse have been built, with plans to construct another five cottages and renovate four existing ones. Future plans include developing gift-packaged deer and sika venison to create a signature tourism shopping brand for the county...
