Weymouth-Portland Harbour

Weymouth and Portland is a unitary authority area in Dorset, England, comprising the towns of Weymouth and Portland. During the 2012 London Olympics and Paralympics, Weymouth and Portland Harbour served as the venue for sailing events. It is reported that this sailing venue included the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy (Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy) and the adjacent commercial marina, where the 2006 ISAF Youth Sailing World Championships were held.

Weymouth and Portland Harbour offers some of the best natural sailing waters in the UK, making it highly suitable for sailing activities. The onshore facilities are also comprehensive, providing world-class sporting amenities for athletes and the local community. Prior to the 2012 London Olympics, the sailing facilities were renovated and upgraded, including improvements to the existing sports infrastructure at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy such as the construction of a new 250-metre permanent boat park and new lifting and mooring equipment.

After the London Olympics, the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy will continue to benefit from the Olympic legacy facilities, offering top-tier training and competition venues for both the local community and elite athletes from around the world.
