The Royal Crescent
Highlights The No. 1 Royal Crescent, now a museum, perfectly recreates its splendor from 1770 in every detail, while staff dressed in period costumes allow visitors to fully experience life during Bath’s most prosperous era. Introduction The Royal Crescent is the most magnificent and grand architectural complex in Bath, built between 1767 and 1775. It consists of 30 interconnected buildings, featuring Italianate decoration and a total of 114 columns. The crescent-shaped road and houses form an elegant curve that is truly captivating, exuding an air of refined aristocracy, and it is hailed as the most noble street in Britain.
The No. 1 Crescent building functions as a museum, displaying many precious artifacts, portraits, and more. Part of it also serves as the Royal Crescent Hotel, one of the finest star-rated hotels in the area. Tickets/Opening Hours Free entry to view the exterior; museum admission is £4, free for children under 5, and £3 for groups of 20 or more.
Museum opening hours: mid-February to October, 10:30–17:00; November to mid-December, 10:30–16:00. Closed on Mondays, and last admission is half an hour before closing.
