Introduction Quarry Bank Mill is located in Wilmslow, 16 kilometres south of Manchester, and is an 18th-century cotton mill. The mill still produces cloth today, allowing visitors to understand the principles of how water-powered wheels drive spinning machines.

Costumed guides in the apprentice house take you back in time to witness the harsh lives of young workers. The mill is an example of early industrial factories, featuring a steam engine and a well-preserved iron waterwheel. The surrounding area includes fields, houses, and a church, offering plenty of space for you to stroll and imagine what life was like here.
