Teruel

Teruel is a municipality in the eastern Spanish autonomous community of Aragon and the capital of the province of Teruel. It is known for its particularly cool summers and extremely cold winters, as well as for its pottery and surrounding archaeological sites. The town is also famed for its numerous Mudéjar-style buildings and is referred to as the town of mudéjar.

Teruel is a beautiful city whose Islamic-influenced, yet distinctly European-style Mudéjar architecture forms part of Aragon’s Mudéjar heritage, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its grand cathedral, Baroque churches, 17th-century palaces, and other historic structures evoke the atmosphere of medieval Europe. Additionally, a theme park and museum complex, squares filled with architectural landmarks, and the vibrant Bullfighting Street are all must-sees.
