Dick Bruna’s former residence might more aptly be called the home of Miffy, the adorable little rabbit he created in 1955. With her playful appearance and childlike charm, Miffy has grown into a globally beloved character. Her storybooks have been translated into over 40 languages, with sales exceeding 85 million copies. On February 18, 2006, to celebrate Miffy’s 51st birthday, Dick Bruna’s former home was turned into a permanent museum dedicated to Miffy.

The Miffy Museum exhibition space is spread across two floors. As you step inside, the first thing that catches your eye is a golden Miffy statue standing at the end of the corridor. Here, you can learn all about Miffy’s growth from 1955 to the present, how she came to be, and how Dick drew her. In the reading corner, hundreds of Miffy books—such as *Miffy at the Seaside*, *Miffy at the Zoo*, *Miffy’s Dream*, *Miffy Goes Camping*, and *Miffy the Queen*—line the walls. Pick one up, sit down, and slowly flip through its pages. With just a few strokes, Miffy’s emotions come to life, and simple colors tell simple stories, making her feel like a neighbor’s child, warm and delightful.

Step into the activity room, where the walls are covered with the words “Welcome to my home, Miffy” in various languages. Visit Miffy’s little house to see her bed, her stool, watch an episode of Miffy’s cartoon, or play games with Miffy and her friends. At Miffy’s home, there’s no need to stay quiet—kids can play freely and do whatever they like.
