Novara

Novara is a city in the Piedmont region of northwestern Italy, serving as the capital of the Province of Novara. It is located between the Agogna River and the Terdoppio River, approximately 50 kilometers from Milan and 95 kilometers from Turin. It is the second most populous city in the Piedmont region after Turin. At the same time, it is also an important transportation hub along the commercial routes from Milan to Turin and from Genoa to Switzerland.

Novara is one of the most unmissable cities in the Piedmont region, and its attractions can be divided into two categories. The most famous sites are mainly located in the historic center of Novara, enclosed by the city walls. The Basilica of San Gaudenzio is the highest point in the city. The existing basilica was built between 1577 and 1690, and its 121-meter bell tower is particularly majestic. The Neoclassical Novara Cathedral is an important religious center in the area. Next to the grand Civic Broletto building are the Civic Museum and the Museum of Modern Art. The ancient squares and various magnificent palaces are also not to be missed.

There are also many attractions outside the city walls of Novara, including the Church of San Nazzaro della Costa and the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, which was built in 1477.
