Contadora Island is a small island in Panama that is hard to find even on most regular maps. But recently, the name "Contadora" has frequently appeared in newspapers and magazines, making this tiny place widely renowned. Contadora Island serves as an international financial hub and is hailed as the "Pearl Island," being a prestigious international tourist destination. Located about 56 kilometers from the Pacific entrance of the Panama Canal, Contadora Island is a picturesque and vibrant island of the Republic of Panama.

Between the blue sea and sky unfolds a stunning panorama; a scattering of Pearl Islands compete in beauty, all coming into view. Contadora Island boasts lush green waves, white sands, coconut groves, and clusters of trees, all breathtakingly beautiful. Long known for its enchanting scenery and pleasant climate, Contadora Island attracts tourists from around the world. But it has gained worldwide fame more recently as the birthplace of the Contadora Group, which has tirelessly advocated for peace in Central America. In January 1983, the foreign ministers of four Central American countries—Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, and Panama—held a meeting on Contadora Island and proposed the initiative of "peacefully resolving conflicts in Central America." Since then, the foreign ministers have frequently worked together to mediate disputes among Central American nations, and they came to be known as the "Contadora Group." As a result, Contadora Island has often appeared in the news and become known to people around the world.
