Istana Nurul Iman
Introduction Istana Nurul Iman is the world's largest royal palace and the residence of the Sultan of Brunei. It is said that the palace has over 1,700 rooms and serves as the venue for state banquets. If you wish to visit the palace, plan your trip on Brunei’s National Day (February 23) or during Hari Raya Aidilfitri, which marks the end of Ramadan. The palace is open for three days during this period, and visitors can even queue up to shake hands with the Sultan. The magnificent golden-domed palace is extremely opulent, and in the evening, the golden rooftop and the riverside of the palace are popular spots for tourists to take photos. Transportation The palace is located on Tutong Road, about 4 kilometers from the city center. As public transport is infrequent, taking a water taxi is more convenient.
