Attraction Introduction

Located near the town of Ibra about a three-hour drive south from Muscat, Wadi Bani Khalid has water year-round. The stream is crystal-clear and cool, with lush clusters of date palms and other plants lining its banks. Over time, the river has carved out steep cliffs along both sides through continuous erosion. Locals in Oman often come here to barbecue, fish, or cool off in the water during the summer.

The local residents use the water from this stream to wash clothes and feed their livestock. Hiking upstream leads to a massive cave that is 450 meters long. Entering the cave for exploration requires a helmet and lighting equipment. During the winter months, the high water levels make cave exploration unsafe.
