Introduction

St. Peter’s Church is situated in the northern part of the city and was constructed in 1710, making it the oldest Catholic church in Malaysia. Grand religious ceremonies are held here on Good Friday in mid-April and on St. Peter’s Day in June. Every Easter, thousands of worshippers gather to take part in the candlelight vigil and commemorative ceremonies. The church was built by the Portuguese and features an architectural style that blends Eastern and Western elements. Inside, there are beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows adorned with colorful stained glass. Today, it serves as the church for the Portuguese delegation. Transportation
