Glass Bottle Art Museum

The Glass Bottle Art Museum, located in the northern part of Pattaya, has become one of the city’s most popular museums and is the world’s only glass bottle art museum. It was founded by Mr. Bij De Leji from the Netherlands. Though not very large, the museum is famous worldwide for its uniqueness.

The museum displays many traditional Thai architectural models such as Bangkok’s Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha), Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn), Wat Intharawihan (Ling Stone Temple), Victory Monument, Democracy Monument, and various Thai-style temples. What’s truly astounding is that these models are built inside glass bottles—crafted by carefully inserting tiny pieces of building materials through the bottle’s narrow opening using tweezers, then assembling them into detailed structures inside. The results are impressively proportioned and exquisitely crafted. Mr. Bij De Leji, who has dwarfism, has achieved great success through his own hard work. The museum showcases over 300 such intricate bottle-art creations, which took nearly five years to complete. Each piece represents a lifetime of dedication, years of effort, and immense creativity, earning deep admiration from all who see them.
