Sakado City

Sakado City is a city located in central Saitama Prefecture, Japan. It gained city status in 1976 and is home to Seiwa University and Josai Women's University.

Seitenkyū, a Taoist temple in Sakado City, is said to have been built by Taiwan’s foremost temple architect and took 15 years to complete. It is the largest Taoist temple in Japan, primarily enshrining the Three Pure Ones, with a ceiling made up of more than 10,000 pieces of glass. The Rice Paddy Art Museum spans 7,000 square meters and displays valuable collections of ukiyo-e and other forms of art. In addition, the Sakado City Historical and Ethnological Museum, Kita-Asaba Sakura Embankment Park, and Nishiyama Kaikan are also worth visiting.
