With deep pockets, stepping into Crown can make you feel like royalty. Crown is situated on the southern bank of the Yarra River in Melbourne and officially opened in May 1997. Some of its facilities can be enjoyed by visitors free of charge, such as the light and sound shows in the lobby and the fire-breathing effects along the Yarra River, all created by top designers to harmonize with the surrounding Yarra River and Southbank environment. Walking along the pedestrian walkway outside “Crown,” you’ll find eight 10-meter-tall “Fire & Water Columns,” which shoot timed fireballs from their tops at night, with flames reaching up to 10 meters — currently the largest artificial fireballs in the world. The design of the Crown lobby is also remarkable: a five-story-high atrium made of Italian black marble and glass provides a setting for a spectacular show integrating water, music, laser, and dry ice effects. Titled “Four Seasons in a Day,” this performance lasts 90 minutes and runs continuously throughout the day. The Fire & Water Columns inside Crown are eight ten-meter-tall pillars. During the day they spray water, but at night they periodically shoot fireballs from their tops, with flames reaching up to ten meters high — the largest artificial fireballs in the world.
