Australia National Aviation Museum was formerly known as the "Melbourne Aviation Museum." Located at Moorabbin Airport in Melbourne, it was established in 1962 as Australia’s aircraft restoration unit, responsible for maintaining World War II-era planes. It later became a museum and opened to the public in 1964.

The Australia National Aviation Museum is regarded as Australia’s only true national aviation museum. Over the past several decades, the museum has collected and preserved Australia’s rich aviation heritage, telling the story of the country’s aviation industry and its significant historical role. Currently, the museum houses a collection of 50 aircraft and 25 engines, making it one of the largest aviation museums in Australia. It features some of the best aircraft designed and built in Australia—whether designed, manufactured, or closely associated with Australian aviation—making it the most comprehensive collection of Australian aircraft and a highly regarded destination.
