Bolte Bridge

Bolte Bridge is a double-cantilever bridge located in the Docklands area of Melbourne, spanning the Yarra River and Victoria Harbour. Construction began in 1996 and was completed in 1999, taking three years and costing 75 million AUD. The bridge is named after Henry Bolte, the first Premier of Victoria.

Bolte Bridge is 490 meters long and 15.35 meters wide, with a maximum span of 173 meters. Two 90-meter-high towers are installed at both ends, added for aesthetic purposes to enhance the bridge's visual appeal. The bridge has four spans: two main spans of 173 meters each and two side spans of 72 meters each. It features six vehicle lanes only—no bicycles or pedestrians are allowed. Around 50,000 vehicles cross the bridge daily, greatly facilitating transportation between the two sides of the river. When night falls, colorful lights illuminate the bridge, giving it an even more graceful appearance. Viewed from afar, it resembles an elegant lady sitting on the river, quietly admiring the bright moonlight.
