While taking in the stunning views of Port Phillip Bay and Bass Strait, visitors can also explore a series of military fortifications dating back to the 1880s at Cape Nelson Fort, including tunnels, gun emplacements, and positions. Here, you can learn about where the first combined artillery fire of World War I took place and where the first shot of World War II in Australia was fired.
