Lingqiu Ancient Road

The ancient road winds through peaks and turns, with meandering rivers, layered green mountains, and enchanting scenery. Temples, mighty passes, and Buddhist stupas complement each other beautifully. Among them, the Jueshan Temple built during the Liao Dynasty is particularly legendary. The white pagoda, ancient well, and the nearby small hill within the temple share the same height and depth, known as a mystery and hailed as a marvel. Nearby stands the Imperial Archery Platform where Emperor Gaozong of the Northern Wei Dynasty, Tuoba Jun, and his ministers held martial contests, and the inscriptions on the "Monument to the Emperor’s Tour" can still be faintly discerned.

Located in the southeastern part of Lingqiu County. The ancient road was first built during the Northern Wei Dynasty and served as a key route from the northern part of the Shanxi Plateau to the North China Plain, extending 140 li north to Yu Prefecture and south to Moyuan. In the 5th century, the Tuoba Xianbei people of the Northern Wei Dynasty traveled this route, exiting the Taihang Mountains via the Tang River Valley, swept across Hebei, and vied for dominance over the Central Plains.
