Located in Tuogelake Township to the west of the county seat, it is currently one of Xinjiang’s larger, well-preserved ancient Uyghur residential buildings with a distinctive style. Originally built in 1911, the entire manor covers an area of over 780 square meters, comprising 17 rooms of various sizes, including the main hall, corridor rooms, front courtyard, patio, and yard. The walls around the main hall and guest rooms feature exquisitely crafted stone niches adorned with floral patterns, bas-relief designs, while the patio and corridor pillars are engraved with elegant wooden carvings. The beams and rafters in all rooms are uniform and meticulously selected, and the walls are coated with a smooth, mirror-like mixture of gypsum, egg white, and rock sugar. It is said that the owner was a wealthy local (Bai) who owned gold mines and vast farmlands, and began constructing this manor after making his fortune. Due to the massive scale of the project, it remained unfinished for over 20 years. Niyaz Manor stands majestically and impressively, resembling a “mini Forbidden City.” The regional authorities have allocated special funds for its restoration, and in 1998, it was designated as a Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit by the People’s Government of the Autonomous Region. Today, Niyaz Manor has been transformed into an exhibition hall for ethnic and folk cultural relics, displaying over a hundred pieces of precious historical and ethnological artifacts. Each artifact seems to tell visitors the long and splendid history and culture of Qiemo as well as its rich ethnic traditions.

Tuogelake Township: Tuogelake Township is located 1.5 kilometers west of Qiemo County seat, covering a total area of 52 square kilometers. Its name in the Uyghur language means “a stretch of poplar forest.” The township administers 6 administrative villages, 19 villager groups, and 1 development zone, with a total of 1,173 households and 5,577 residents, among which: 4,997 are Uyghurs, accounting for 87% of the population; 749 are Han Chinese, accounting for 12%; and 12 are Hui. Within the township, there is a supply and marketing cooperative, a hospital, a credit union, 1 middle school, 1 central primary school, and 3 regular primary schools, serving a total of 1,482 teachers and students.
