Group Tomb of Mummies

There are 14 mummies in this group, dating back approximately 2,600 years (to the Spring and Autumn Period). They were unearthed in October 1996 from the Zaghunluq Ancient Tombs, located about 6 kilometers southwest of Qiemo County in Xinjiang. In addition to adult male, female, and child mummies, the excavation also uncovered a variety of burial objects including stone, pottery, wood, bronze, iron artifacts, as well as cotton and wool textiles and sacrificial items. The Zaghunluq Tomb Exhibition Hall was established in 1996.
