Victory Peak

Victory Peak

Victory Peak is located on the northern side of Yiwu County, with an elevation of 2,110 meters. On either side of the main peak are two other peaks, standing side by side in the shape of the Chinese character "山" (mountain), creating a spectacular sight. The main peak still preserves the ruins of a bunker from the Forty-Day Defense Battle. In 1950, officers and soldiers of the Second Company of a unit of the People's Liberation Army fought a bloody battle against bandits here for forty days and nights, and emerged victorious. To commemorate the heroic deeds of the indomitable Second Company, the peak was named Victory Peak in 1978 and is now a county-level cultural heritage site of Yiwu County.

The town of Yiwu is situated at the foot of this mountain. From the summit, one can overlook the entire town, making it a key strategic stronghold for defending the mountain city. It was here that the officers and soldiers of the Second Company fought a bloody battle against the bandits for forty days and nights and ultimately achieved victory.

To commemorate the heroic deeds of the indomitable Second Company, the peak was named Victory Peak in 1978. Today, it is not only an ideal place to remember the martyrs’ legacy, but also one of the best spots for tourists to engage in hiking and enjoy the views.
