Lake Yilimu

The central part of Lake Yilimu is deeply carved by two large mountains to the east and west, giving it a view up close that resembles the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River — majestic and grand. When viewed from above, the entire lake takes on the shape of an “8,” resembling a huge sapphire embedded in the green earth. The hundreds-of-meters-high mountains on both shores are straight and steep, dark and solemn all day long. Wisps of white clouds drift among the peaks, shifting colors constantly as the sun moves; the deep blue and crystal-clear lake water acts like a giant divine mirror, reflecting the green mountains, white clouds, and colorful clouds on its sapphire-blue surface, like a landscape painting with just the right balance of hues.
