Mayitas

Mayitas is a cultural tourism attraction.

Located about 40 kilometers southeast of Emin County, beside the road to Tiechanggou, there is an oil-stained, human-height boulder that once served as a landmark. The name "Mayitas" (Oil Rock) comes from this. Nearby, bizarre and uniquely shaped giant rocks are scattered across the landscape—some resembling galloping horses, others crouching tigers—the scenery is truly magnificent.

About 10 kilometers north of Mayitas lies a deep valley in the Urghasar Mountain range. In spring, snowmelt sprays from the cliffs, and wild asparagus mushrooms form rings on the green grass; in summer, a variety of wildflowers bloom, filling the air with sweet fragrance, while rows of poplar, willow, and birch trees create a lush green corridor. By autumn, numerous wild apple orchards hang heavy with fruit, bending their branches; ripe wild apples fall to the ground, rot, and ferment, giving off a wine-like aroma. Bears, wild boars, deer, and argali sheep can be spotted here and there, foraging through the woods.
