The original construction date is unknown. It was rebuilt in the first year of the Taiding era of the Yuan Dynasty (1324), and underwent renovations during the Ming, Qing, and Republican periods. The overall layout is rectangular, covering an area of 3,655 square meters. The existing structures mainly include the Hall of Heavenly Kings (Mountain Gate), the Main Hall, East and West Side Halls, and the Four-Corner Pavilion (Pyramidal Pavilion).

The Main Hall is a Yuan Dynasty structure, featuring a five-bay width and two-bay depth, with a single-eave hanging hip roof.

On October 7, 2019, Liuhui Hongfu Temple was included in the eighth batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.
