Dingxiang Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument

The Dingxiang Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument is a cultural relic protection unit of Dingxiang County.

The Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument is located about 500 meters north of Nanzhuang Village in Hebian Town, Dingxiang County. In June 1972, to commemorate the martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the War of Resistance Against Japan and the Liberation War, the villagers of Nanzhuang Village erected a monument and built a monument pavilion to the north of the village. The pavilion is a brick-concrete structure with two levels; the upper level bears the calligraphy of Mao Zedong reading "Eternal Glory to the People's Heroes," while the lower level features a stone tablet inscribed with the names and deeds of 162 local martyrs who died in the War of Resistance Against Japan and the Liberation War. The monument is 1.3 meters tall, 0.65 meters wide, and 0.18 meters thick, and remains well preserved. In 1931, it was designated as a county-level cultural relic protection unit by the Dingxiang County People's Government. Content excerpted from ("Xinzhou Cultural Relics Collection").
