The Stele Commemorating the Reconstruction of Taiping Temple is a cultural relic protection unit of Dingxiang County.

The Stele Commemorating the Reconstruction of Taiping Temple is located in Kou Village, Nanwang Township, Dingxiang County. The temple has been destroyed, but the stele remains. The stele is made of bluestone, with a dragon-headed base that is now lost. It stands 2.4 meters tall, 0.9 meters wide, and 0.19 meters thick. The top features seal script reading “Stele Commemorating the Reconstruction of Taiping Temple,” while the heading states “Record of the Reconstruction of Taiping Temple.” The body of the stele is inscribed in regular script, with 15 lines of text, each line containing up to 59 characters, documenting the origin of Taiping Temple and the process of its reconstruction. It was erected in the 17th year of the Zhi Zheng era of the Yuan Dynasty (1357). The text was composed by Jia Shouyi, calligraphy by Jixiang, the title seal script by Jia Chunxi, and carved by Hao Cong and Hao Xin. The stele is now severely weathered, with most of the characters worn and illegible. Kou Village: Located in the southwestern part of Dingxiang County, Kou Village borders Dongcun Town in Xinfu District. The village maintains an annual vegetable and melon cultivation area of around 500 mu, with 250 farming households and 280 laborers engaged in the industry, accounting for 70% of those involved in agricultural production. The cultivation is entirely pollution-free, using organic manure. The watermelons grown here are renowned locally for their sandy, sweet, and crisp texture. During the summer harvest season, buyers flock to the village from Xinfu District and other areas.
