Hui Feng Pagoda

Hui Feng Pagoda is a cultural relic protection unit of Xinzhou City.

Hui Feng Pagoda is located about 500 meters northeast of Hui Feng Village, Shoulu Township, Dingxiang County. It is a pavilion-style brick pagoda covering an area of approximately 20 square meters and is a remnant structure from the Song Dynasty. Originally situated within Puji Temple, the temple no longer exists, leaving only the pagoda standing. According to the Song Dynasty inscription on the “Record of the Newly Built Monk’s Stone Pagoda,” the pagoda was built in the first year of the Yuanyou era (1086) during the reign of Emperor Zhezong of Song. The pagoda is over 17 meters tall with seven stories in total. The ground floor is square-shaped, with each side measuring 4.5 meters and a height of 2.5 meters. Its eaves consist of one layer of flat bricks, followed by four layers of pointed bricks, then finished with tiled cornices. The upper six stories are all hexagonal. Each level gradually becomes shorter and smaller as it goes up, and the eaves of each story are adorned with carved brick imitation wooden bracket sets. The upper levels feature imitation wooden overhanging eaves, with iron finials crowning the tiled tips. Each level has a door facing the sunny side. In 1981, it was designated as a county-level cultural relic protection unit, and in 2007, it was listed as a municipal-level key cultural relic protection unit by the People’s Government of Xinzhou City.
