Hengshan Site

The Hengshan Site is a cultural heritage site protected by Dingxiang County.

The Hengshan Site is located about 100 meters north of Hengshan Village, Jizhuang Township, Dingxiang County. It is situated on the slopes at the foot of the mountain, extending approximately 500 meters from east to west and 600 meters from north to south, covering an area of around 300,000 square meters. Exposed on the cliff face are ash pits and other features. Collected artifacts include pottery shards made of sandy red-brown clay, sandy gray clay, and clayey gray clay. The decorative patterns feature cord marks. Pottery types that can be identified include tripods, jars, and steamers. Polished stone axes have also been found. This is a Neolithic site. Hengshan Village: Hengshan Village currently has 1,476 households and a population of 5,200, with a total of 14,500 mu of arable land. This year, the per capita net income of farmers in the village is expected to reach 4,800 yuan. Hengshan is a typical agricultural village and a grain-producing area. The village dedicates 7,000 mu of land to grain crops, with yields exceeding 1,500 jin per mu, resulting in a total grain output of 5.3 million kilograms. Economic crops mainly consist of melons and vegetables.
