Wulong Temple in Daixian

Wulong Temple in Daixian is a cultural heritage site protected by the Daixian government.

Wulong Temple is located east of Dongjiazhai Village, Xingao Township, Daixian. According to inscriptions within the temple, it was built in the second year of the Zhengde era of the Ming Dynasty (1507), and was renovated in the fourth year of the Wanli era (1576), the second year of the Yongzheng era of the Qing Dynasty (1724), and the fifteenth year of the Guangxu era (1889). The current structure dates back to the Qing Dynasty. It faces south and covers an area of 1,214 square meters. The temple has a single-courtyard layout, with a stage, a wooden memorial archway, and the main hall aligned along the central axis. On both sides are side gates, bell and drum towers, and side chambers. The main hall sits on a brick platform that is 9.9 meters wide, 8.7 meters deep, and 0.45 meters high. The hall features three bays in width and five rafters in depth, with a single-eave hanging gable roof and a six-rafter front-porch-style framework. The front eaves are adorned with decorative bracket sets, while the porch columns and architraves are richly decorated. There are stone bases for 10 stone sculptures, one stele from the Ming Dynasty’s renovation, four Qing Dynasty steles documenting renovations and donations, and one stone lamp stand.
