Longxing Temple in Dai County

Longxing Temple is a cultural heritage site protected by Dai County.

Longxing Temple is located on Xin Street, Fucun, E Kou Town, Dai County. The exact date of its establishment is unknown. According to an inscription on the stage plaque, it was renovated in the ninth year of the Yongzheng reign during the Qing Dynasty (1731), and the existing structure dates back to the Qing Dynasty. It faces south and covers an area of 1,510 square meters.

The temple follows a single-courtyard layout, with the stage and main hall built along the central axis, and side halls on the east and west. The main hall stands on a brick foundation that is 15.6 meters wide, 8.1 meters deep, and 0.25 meters high. The hall has five bays in width and five rafters in depth, featuring a single-eave hip-and-gable roof and a six-rafter front-corridor structure. The front eaves have four-panel lattice doors with six panes each on the middle, secondary, and corner bays. E Kou Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Dai County. It belonged to Nieying Commune in 1958, was split off as E Kou Commune in 1961, and became a town in 1984. Located in the southeastern part of the county, it is 28 kilometers from the county seat. Covering an area of 83.1 square kilometers, the town has a population of 34,600. It is traversed by the Beijing–Datong Railway, a dedicated railway for the Taigang E Kou Iron Mine, and roads leading to Mount Wutai. The area is rich in water resources, with the E River flowing year-round. The provincial key water conservancy project, the South-to-North Water Diversion, has been completed.
