Jia Sheng Temple

Jia Sheng Temple is a cultural heritage site protected by Dai County.

Jia Sheng Temple is located to the north of Xianwang Village, Zaolin Town, Dai County. Its founding date is unknown. According to an inscription in the side hall, it was renovated in the 16th year of the Zhengde era of the Ming Dynasty (1521). The temple faces south and covers an area of 3,295 square meters. It has a three-courtyard layout, with a theater stage, side hall, and main hall arranged along the central axis, and east and west wing rooms on both sides.

The side hall and main hall are Ming Dynasty structures, while the rest are Qing Dynasty relics. The side hall has a stone foundation that is 11.2 meters wide, 9.3 meters deep, and 1.3 meters high. It features a three-bay façade, a four-rafter depth, a single-eave hanging gable roof, and a five-purlin, corridor-less structural style. Its interior fittings have been destroyed. The main hall also sits on a stone foundation—11.3 meters wide, 9 meters deep, and 0.9 meters high—with a three-bay façade, a five-rafter depth, a single-eave flush gable roof, and a six-purlin front corridor structure. The front eaves of the central and side bays are fitted with four-panel six-mullion latticed doors.
