Ancient Pine Temple

The Ancient Pine Temple is a cultural relic protection unit of Dai County.

The Ancient Pine Temple is located in Liujia Gedong Village, Xingao Township, Dai County. Its founding date is unknown. According to inscriptions within the temple, it was renovated in the second year of the Tianqi era of the Ming Dynasty (1622), the third year of the Jiaqing era of the Qing Dynasty (1798), and the 29th year of the Guangxu era (1903). Facing west and situated eastward, it covers an area of 1,490 square meters. Built along the mountain terrain, it is divided into upper and lower courtyards, with a memorial archway-style gate and the Mahavira Hall built along the central axis. On both sides are bell and drum towers and north-south side halls. The existing structures date back to the Qing Dynasty, while the rest have been newly built. The Mahavira Hall sits on a brick foundation that is 10.5 meters wide, 7.7 meters deep, and 0.56 meters high. It has three bays in width and four rafters in depth, with a single-eave hanging hip roof and a five-rafter, corridor-less structural style. The front eaves of the central and side bays feature lattice windows and doors. The temple currently houses one stone lantern tower, one Ming Dynasty renovation stele, and five Qing Dynasty renovation and merit steles.
