Fangchang Prince Temple

Fangchang Prince Temple is a cultural heritage site protected by Dai County.

Fangchang Prince Temple is located in Fangchang Village, Shangguan Town, Dai County. Its founding date is unknown. According to surviving inscriptions, it was renovated in the 6th year (1867) and 10th year (1871) of the Tongzhi reign during the Qing Dynasty. The current structure dates back to the Qing Dynasty. It faces south and covers an area of 1,282 square meters. The temple has a single-courtyard layout, with structures arranged along the central axis including a memorial archway-style mountain gate, a theater stage, and the main hall, flanked by side gates, bell and drum towers, east and west side halls, and wing rooms. The main hall sits on a brick foundation that is 8.6 meters wide, 8.4 meters deep, and 0.6 meters high. The hall is three bays wide and four rafters deep, with a single-eave gable-and-hip roof and a five-rafter front porch structure. The front eaves of the central and side bays feature four-panel lattice doors with six panels each. Two Qing Dynasty merit steles are preserved inside the temple.
