E’lan Temple

E’lan Temple is a cultural relic protection unit of Dai County.

E’lan Temple is located in Dongtanshang Village, Ekou Town, Dai County. Its founding date is unknown, but the existing structure features architectural styles from the Qing Dynasty. The temple faces south and sits on a north-south axis, covering an area of 724 square meters. It has a single-courtyard layout, with only the Kṣitigarbha Hall remaining from the original construction; the rest are modern reconstructions.

The Kṣitigarbha Hall is built on a stone platform that is 9.6 meters wide, 7 meters deep, and 0.6 meters high. The hall is three bays wide and five rafters deep, with a single-eave gable-and-hip roof and a six-rafter front-porch structural system. The interior fittings have been modified.
